About Steve
Steve Panozzo is a professional cartoonist and caricaturist, working primarily for newspapers and magazines since 1984. His newspaper career began at The Manly Daily in 1985. After a spell working for Weekly Neighbourhood Newspapers in Perth, Steve returned to Sydney in 1987, working for ten years at The Australian and The Daily Telegraph. Since 2006, he has been the resident cartoonist for The Australian Journal of Pharmacy.
He has been a frequent finalist in the annual Bald Archy Prize since 2001. His first solo exhibition of caricatures, “Faces at the Fenwick”, was held at The Fenwick Restaurant in Balmain in 2021.
Steve produces a range of artwork for corporate clients, as well as drawing "live' caricatures at conferences, events and weddings. He is a life member of the Australian Cartoonists' Association and currently serves on the Board. He is the recipient of several cartooning awards, including Rotary Cartoon Awards in 2015 and 2020 and the Jim Russell Award in 2010 for his outstanding contribution to Australian cartooning.
